Lost or Damaged Your Tesla UK 3-Pin Adapter? How to Replace It
What to check before replacing the UK 3-pin adapter on a Tesla Mobile Connector, how fast it charges, and how to order a single replacement.
What the adapter actually is
The Mobile Connector is a control box with a vehicle cable on one side and a short socket on the other. Interchangeable adapters plug into that socket: in the UK the standard one is a fused 3-pin (BS 1363) plug. Losing it does not mean replacing the whole Mobile Connector.
Check your connector generation first
Gen 1 and Gen 2 Mobile Connectors use different adapter interfaces. Compare the adapter end of your connector with the product photos, or send us a photo before ordering.
- Photograph the end where the adapter clips in
- Note any part number printed on the control box
- Send both to us on WhatsApp for a free check
How fast it charges
Tesla lists the UK adapter at 10A, 2.3 kW and about 15 km of range per hour. That suits overnight top-ups and occasional use; for daily charging most owners add a home charger or a 16A blue socket.
Safe use
Plug straight into a wall socket in good condition. Avoid extension leads and multi-way adapters, check the plug for heat after the first long charge, and stop if the plug or socket becomes noticeably warm.
Frequently asked questions
Can I buy just the UK 3-pin adapter?
Yes. The adapter is a separate part; you do not need a new Mobile Connector. LANVOLT sells the BS 1363 replacement from 1 unit.
Do you supply shops that sell Tesla accessories?
Yes. UK and European accessory shops can order from 5 units, with a copy of the TÜV Rheinland certificate held by our supplier for the BS 1363 model.
Will a UK adapter for Gen 1 fit a Gen 2 Mobile Connector?
No. Gen 1 and Gen 2 use different adapter interfaces. Check your connector generation before ordering.
Is LANVOLT an official Tesla accessory?
No. LANVOLT is an independent replacement accessory for compatible Gen 2 Mobile Connector systems and is not affiliated with Tesla, Inc.
