Tesla Adapters for Turo Hosts and Rental Fleets: What to Stock and How Many

A guide for Turo hosts, rental companies and fleets: which Gen 2 adapters to keep in each car, how many spares to hold and what charging speeds to put in your listing.

Why rental cars lose adapters

Guests charge at friends' houses, hotels and campgrounds, unplug in a hurry and leave the adapter in the wall. Without one, the next guest cannot charge from an outlet. A spare in stock costs far less than a cancelled booking.

What to keep in each car

A NEMA 14-50 adapter covers the common 50A outlet in garages and RV parks and is the fastest outlet option Tesla lists. A NEMA 5-15 adapter covers any ordinary household outlet. Together they cover most of what guests will find.

How many spares to hold

Order enough for each car plus a few spares, and restock when you hand one out. Small-batch orders of 5–20 units across one or two models suit most hosts and small fleets.

Put charging speeds in your listing

Guests plan better when they know what to expect. Using Tesla's figures for a Model 3: about 30 miles of range per hour on a NEMA 14-50 and about 6 miles per hour on a standard NEMA 5-15 outlet.

Camping guests and TT-30

RV park pedestals often have a TT-30 (30A, 120V) outlet. Tesla's Mobile Connector adapter list does not include a TT-30, so add one if your guests take cars camping.
