What Tesla charges

Tesla sells individual Mobile Connector adapters on its online shop. When we checked on 2 November 2026, the UK 3-pin adapter cost €50 on the Irish shop and AED 200 on the UAE shop, and the Schuko adapter cost £46 on the UK shop. All three were out of stock, with only an email-me-when-available option, and each page says you must be a signed-in Tesla vehicle owner to buy.

Why owners look for a replacement

Most people search for one after losing the adapter, leaving it at a holiday home, damaging it or needing a second one for another socket. If Tesla's shop is out of stock, the Mobile Connector is unusable at that socket until a replacement arrives, even though the Mobile Connector itself is fine.

What to check in a third-party adapter

The Gen 2 Mobile Connector checks its adapter, so the plug shape alone is not enough.

• A temperature-monitoring signal circuit that the Mobile Connector recognises (an adapter fault shows as five red flashes).
• The right plug face for your socket: a Schuko plug needs the earth-pin hole to fit French and Belgian Type E sockets.
• A certificate for that exact model, not a generic claim. Ask for a copy.
• A returns window and a warranty you can actually use.
• No conversion plugs or extension leads in between: Tesla's manual warns against them.
