RV & Campground Charging: Which Tesla Gen 2 Adapter Do You Need?
Compare the TT-30, NEMA 10-30 and NEMA 14-50 outlets found at RV parks and campgrounds, and work out which Tesla Gen 2 Mobile Connector adapter matches your site.
Three common pedestal outlets, three different adapters
RV parks and campgrounds typically wire their pedestals with one of three outlet types: TT-30 (a 3-prong, 30A/125V outlet built for RVs), NEMA 10-30 (a 3-prong, 30A dryer-style outlet sometimes found at older sites), and NEMA 14-50 (a 4-prong, 50A outlet shared with RVs and electric ranges). They are not interchangeable, and the wrong adapter will not fit the pedestal.
How to tell them apart before you buy
Look at the prong count and the amperage printed on the outlet or the breaker panel. TT-30 has an L-shaped ground prong and two flat blades. NEMA 10-30 has three round or angled prongs with no separate ground. NEMA 14-50 has four total prongs, including a distinct ground. A clear photo of the outlet face is the fastest way to confirm which one you have.
Tesla's official Gen 2 lineup does not include a TT-30 adapter
TT-30 is one of the more commonly requested outlet types among RV owners charging with a Gen 2 Mobile Connector, and it is a gap in Tesla's own accessory lineup. A compatible TT-30P adapter fills that gap for pedestals wired specifically for RVs.
